MATE SELECTION PREFERENCES BASED ON ALTRUISTIC CHARACTERISTICS AMONG THAIS
    (2022-01-01) Tsai S.; Rhein D.; Mahidol University
emphasises the importance of altruism regarding long term mate selection....Extensive research in evolutionary psychology has explored the role that altruism plays in mate preference. This researchaims to investigate whether altruism is desired for long-term and short-term relationships among females and males, as well

In conclusion, the genetic evaluation for FER, HOF, and HOS can include the dominance and MS effects to increase the accuracy of evaluation of breeding values and plan for mate selection in breeding programs.... Hang Dam) chickens. Data were collected for each fertility trait from 3435 test-week records from 715 hens, 158 mate sires, and 972 pedigree animals. Three random regression models were analyzed: model 1 (M1: A + PE) was adjusted by using additive

Selection of male and female shrimp broodstock for the production of high-quality fry is a primary goal of selective breeding programs of economically important species. Mating a single male with multiple females or a single female with multiple... males following by determination of the performance of the progeny is one approach for the selection of suitable male broodstock. In these experiments, a single female of the Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei was mated to two males using

in the original National Laboratory Animal Center colony. Hydronephrosis was discovered in 9.66% of the population. Breeder selection for breeding was carried out by using the progeny selection method, which selects offspring based on their characteristics..., in combination with the breeding principle of maximum avoidance of inbreeding and the rotational mating system. Breeding pairs that produced hydronephrosis offspring were removed from the colony and replaced with offspring from other healthy breeding pairs within

© 2020, The Author(s). Background: A genetic sexing strain (GSS) is an essential component for pest control using the sterile insect technique (SIT). A GSS is developed using a combination of Y-autosome translocation and a selectable marker... performance of the strain. Routine monitoring was applied to study genetic stability, genetic variation, and male mating competitiveness. Results: The percentage of recombinants was significantly different between males (wp) and females (wp+), ranging between

selected globally. Of all isolates, 69.94% were found to be fertile and exhibited clamp connections and basidiospores. The Vancouver isolates showed a high fertility rate of 84.2% as compared to only 29% of the 21 Australian isolates investigated. Mating..., emerged on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Two pathogenic sub-types of VGII (designated VGIIa and VGIIb) were identified among these isolates. All of the isolates proved to be mating type α and had exceptionally high sporulation capacity

Secondary Sex Ratio in Three Inbred Mice Strains at National Laboratory Animal Center, Mahidol University
(2014) Thanaporn Pinpart; Apisit Laosantisuk; Wanson Keawmanee; Kanchana Kengkoom; Mahidol University.Laboratory Animal Production, Office of Academic Services
The three inbred mice strains at Nation Laboratory Animal Center’s (NLAC) foundation colonies were looked for secondary sex ratios. The data were collected from all mating pair from the year 1999 to the year 2012. These 3 strains consist of BALB/c..., they are consistent with other laboratories. This is the revelation of the common practice strong stabilizing selection for the intermediate sex ratio at NLAC’s foundation colonies.
