Abstract

A method for the synthesis of 1,2-dihydroisoquinoline derivatives is described and the conversion of the 1,2-dihydroisoquinoline intermediate to a pavine alkaloid via palladium-induced intramolecular hydroarylation reaction and radical cyclization is presented. © 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
