Abstract
© 2015 Japan Health Sciences University. Background: Fingers have important role in the function and aesthetics. The loss of the finger can lead to psychological problems. Although several reconstructive techniques may exist, the use of osseous-integrated implants to anchor digital prosthesis presents a suitable alternative for the amputation of finger. Case presentation: We present a case, a 45-year-old female whose index finger of right hand was lost as a result of trauma and bone-Anchored implant was placed using one-stage surgery for the silicone prostheses. Results: One-stage surgery technique is a reliable, safe and efficient option that allows a good result in a significantly lower operating time compared to the two-stage insertion procedure and it can be considered as good option for implant retained finger prosthesis.
