Abstract
This research work concerns the application of computer technology for internal workflow management. The objective of the research is to develop a prototype application program that manages workflow in an organization using information from five randomly selected companies in Thailand. This system is a part of intranet. It is in web database style which keeps the data in database and interfaces with users through a web browser. This research is divided into two parts, the workflow system and the employment system. The workflow system concerns setting up steps, setting up step details, and editing step details in employment regulations. The employment system concerns steps in the employment process such as applying for the position, selecting an applicant, interviewing, and asking for approval. Application software use are Microsoft SQL Server as the Database Management System (DBMS), Internet Information Server (IIS) as the web server, and Active Server Pages (ASP) as the interface between web server, database, and users. From the evaluation results, the employment workflow system received fairly good feedback. Concerning practicality, All the systems can be applied to private organizations. These systems can reduce processing time, reduce paper, and are easy to use. For government agencies and state enterprises, they can be applied in some steps because of a number of rules and regulations set up for those organizations. Apart from ease of use, the employment workflow system can help improve the efficiency of work due to its low cost.
