Communication has always played a vital role in interacting with and transmitting messages between people all over the world, but as society has become increasingly complex, communication breakdowns have become more common, sometimes with serious consequences. This study aimed to identify 1) the major communication issues in a medical firm in Thailand and 2) the key factors that cause ineffective communication in a medical firm in Thailand. In order to achieve this, semi-structured interviews were employed to collect data from thirteen professionals working in a Thai medical firm. The findings showed that communication breakdowns occurred most often when communications involved medical terminologies and/or the overwhelming amount of information that usually accompanies communications within this industry. These two factors were further exacerbated by a lack of medical knowledge and workplace pressure in terms of the workload faced by many individuals within the medical industry.
