Abstract

Annual vaccination against influenza is an important adjunct to infection control practices. Repeated seasonal influenza immunization provides effective influenza protection. This cross-sectional study aims to examine the repeated annual influenza vaccination and related factors among 330 registered nurses in Ramathibodi Hospital. Data collection is done through an administered questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with statistical significance level of 0.05 or lower. The results of the study revealed that 52.4% of the registered nurses in Ramathibodi Hospital repeated annual influenza vaccination. The factors associated with repeated annual influenza vaccination included the following: age, perceived susceptibility, perceived barriers, perceived self-efficacy, and payment scheme. (p < 0.05). Based on the findings of the study, it is recommended that hospital administrators consider and adjust public relations to be diverse, understandable, and accessible to all ages. Also, information regarding perceived risk from hospital operation should be provided and awareness of other health beliefs should be promoted, including perceived barriers and perceived self-efficacy. All hospitals should set a policy to provide a Quadrivalent influenza vaccine free of charge to reduce barriers and increase incentives for seasonal influenza vaccinations repeatedly every year.
