dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to develop Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) : Relational Database Design and to evaluate the learning achievement within and between the experimental group (learning by using the CAI program) and control group (learning by using traditional lecture), as well as to determine experimental group opinions toward the CAI program. The subjects were 40 third year Computer Science Program students in the Science and Technology Faculty, Rajabhat Institute Muban Chombung, Ratchaburi. The students were divided randomly into two groups of 20 students each. The first was assigned as the control group to learn by lecture. The other group was assigned as the experimental group to learn by using the CAI program. The scores of both groups were tested before and after their study. The scores of pretest and posttest were analyzed by using statistical methods. Opinions of the CAI program were evaluated using information from questionnaires. The results showed that there was a significant difference of pretest and posttest scores between and also within the control group and experimental group, at 0.01 level. This means that the Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) : Relational Database Design is more effective than the traditional teaching method.
