Abstract
Fruit growth and levels of plant bioregulators namely GA-like substances and CK- like substances in fruits of mango cv. Khiew Sawoey was studied. Samples were taken at 3 weeks after full bloom until harvest (12 weeks after full bloom). Fruit growth during week 1-4 was almost unnoticeable, and after that, growth increased remarkedly. After 4 weeks, fruits could be divided into 2 groups; big fruits (7 g) and small fruits (0.51 g) where most of the later group dropped in later weeks. Fruit abscission occurred remarkedly during week 1-3 after full bloom. After that, fruit abscission decreased and was no longer observed in week 6. Both GA-like substances and CK-like substances reached the maximum peak in week 5 followed by increasing of fruit growth. Most of these substances were mainly found in seeds. This indicated the good relationship between levels of these bioregulators and fruit growth.
